Temporomandibular disorders (TMD) have been reported to be a significant public health problem affecting approximately 5% to 12% of the population. It is the second most common musculoskeletal condition (after chronic low back pain) leading to disability and pain. American Academy of Orofascial Pain (AAOP) has attributed the pain to muscular or articular origin. And myogenic pain is more frequently seen in clinical practice. It is persistent in most cases,[4,5] which becomes the primary cause for TMD patients seeking medical assistance.
